For Parents

As mothers ourselves, our clinical team has witnessed how unique each child is in the way they learn, express themselves and relate to others.  Our goal is to help you understand how your child processes the world around them and then provide you with the tools and strategies they need to reach their full potential.

If you suspect that a diagnostic disorder might be at the root of your child's difficulties, an assessment can be key to the process. With it, we can provide the statistical data we need to understand where your child is relative to his peers, and confirm whether his issues are part part of normal development or not.

If you feel overwhelmed by your child's behaviour, frustrated by negative communication patterns, or feel unable to cope with the stresses of family life, our team can help. Through counselling or consultation, we can guide you to identify what you really need, make a plan, and work through changes that will make your family life and relationships easier and more satisfying.

PARENTING DIFFICULT CHILDREN

If you are the parent of a child who demonstrates extreme behaviour or learning challenges, the good news is that there are resources and strategies out there that can help you to create a household or a learning environment that fits your child and functions well for everyone.

Remember, you are not alone. Other families have been there, and have discovered ways to make things better.

Time and again, we have seen our clients celebrate  new closeness in their family, and accomplishments they previously thought were out of their child's reach. We have great hope for your family, and can help you start to see the potential, too.
